Synopsis: external cedar cladding system (including electrically operated windows, curtain walling, external doors, louvres and glazing
Approximate Contract Value: £2.1million
Main Contractor: Marriott
Architect: Hopkins Architects Limited

We again have developed a prominent architectural building with Hopkins Architects. We are using our external façade system with galvanised steel structural support mullions fixed to the concrete structure. Western Red Cedar boarding is the external finish. We also have designed Western Red Cedar doorsets and fixed glazed units for use on the ground floor. The total area of cladding is 3,500m2.

The windows used on this project were Velfac’s V200 system, supplied by the Main Contractor to sizes co-ordinated by our design process. As an approved Velfac installer, we also fitted these windows.

Perforated aluminium solar shading was sourced by Wood Newton Limited, from Levolux.

We also fitted and assisted in the design of the screens manufactured by Velfac to each side of the reception area. Both screens are 30m long (facetted) and 6.2m high, with Western Red Cedar brise solei.
