Wood Newton Limited has developed a few unique systems that have contributed to its growth and success:

• A housing system that will provide reduced on site build times whilst obtaining very high marks for sustainability in the government's "Code for Sustainable Homes".
• An adaptable external cladding system made of timber panels. This has been successfully used with various external and internal finishes. The system is highly sustainable and has consequently been popular on public buildings attempting to score points on BREEAM (the BRE's Environmental Assessment Method).
• A sliding sash design that match a traditional window, but performs as well as modern windows in terms of air permeability.

In addition, Wood Newton Limited is currently working with the South Midlands region of Taylor Wimpey (formally George Wimpey) to construct 145 houses at Oxley Woods in Milton Keynes. Wood Newton Limited together with Richard Roger's design won John Prescott's £60K Design for Manufacture Competition due to short on site durations and the requirement for low energy use during construction and during occupation. Sustainable materials within the design lessen their environmental impact so the whole scheme has been classed as "excellent" in relation to the government's Code for Sustainable Homes scheme. This contract will run for another two years. The innovative system has been approved by the NHBC and the mortgage lending council.
